Run For All 4: Recap

Run-for-All-2021.png

Our flagship event is a simple community gathering at Jamaica Pond, where we join together for a unified, non-competitive mile long run/walk around the pond. It felt amazing to be back among so many friends and neighbors – and to make some new friends too!

Not to mention that in online and cash donations, we raised over $1,000 to support Community Servings, our local hero organization in Jamaica Plain, fighting food insecurity in our community and beyond. It was inspiring to hear CEO David B. Waters talk in more detail about the work they are doing.

It’s not too late to add to that total: bostonforall.org/donate

A full 100% of your donation goes directly to Community Servings, we don’t keep any $ at all.

Also, a special thanks to Del’s Coffee for pouring delicious coffee all morning and Rifrullo Cafe for providing scrumptuous pastries. These two lovely local businesses donated their time, effort, and expertise so that we could all enjoy free treats – so please support them in return whenever you get the chance.

Run For All 3: Recap

Run for All 2019 - Save the Data

Run For All 3 was a part of Boston For All Week (2019) and it was a huge success! Over the course of the week, we raised over $20,000 in support of three fantastic organizations:

  • The Boston Immigration Justice Accompaniment Network (BIJAN) – providing legal representation and advocacy to immigrants in Boston facing detention and deportation.
  • Redes en Acción Venezuela – a local organization helping Venezuelan refugees settling in the Boston area.
  • Komera – an international organization promoting personal empowerment and education for girls in Rwanda.

We were honored to work with City Councilor Matt O’Malley, State Representative Nika Elugardo, and community partners to host a week-long festival of inclusion and generosity on June 9-15, 2019.

And also a big thank you to our generous sponsors of Boston For All Week, without whom we wouldn’t be able to do this work!

“Boston For All gave visibility to the struggle of Venezuelans relocating in Boston in the midst of the largest migration crisis in the Americas. Their fundraising and visibility support to the work that Redes en Acción Venezuela does, and we could not be more thankful to their volunteers and their phenomenal mission.”

It was another great day at Run For All 2! The community came out in full force and joined in the fun – all to benefit the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA). We heard from City Councilor Matt O’Malley and MIRA’s Federal Policy Director Sarang Sekhavat before joining in our unified lap around Jamaica Pond. We raised over $3,500 to support MIRA’s amazing work and had a great time doing it!

Find some press coverage here.

Huge thanks to our sponsors City Feed and Supply, Rifrullo Cafe, and Red Sun Press.

We are so proud and excited that Run For All was the success that it was. Our neighbors and friends banded together and stood up for civil liberties in a way that showed everyone who we are and that we will stand up for what we believe in. With about 300 participants and $6,000 raised for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), we had one amazing day! Boston Neighborhood Network filmed the event and produced this segment highlighting us. Click here to see it. . . our section begins just after the 7-minute mark.

Here’s our crowd listening to guest speaker Matt Allen, Field Director of the Massachusetts ACLU.
